About Synkra

Good business software can make a meaningful difference to how a company communicates with customers, manages its work and grows. Yet many products are built around the assumptions of the markets where their developers are based. For a small business in South Africa, that can mean paying for software in a foreign currency, using payment methods that are not convenient locally, or working with products that were not designed around the way businesses here operate.

Synkra is building an alternative. We develop products with South African businesses and their operating environment in mind, including local pricing, payment methods, terminology, connectivity, compliance and the economic realities that affect how businesses make technology decisions. The products we build are intended to be useful beyond South Africa as well, but our understanding of the problems starts here.

Synkra develops and owns its software products. This gives us direct control over the product itself, including its development, pricing and future direction. It also allows us to make decisions based on the needs of the businesses using our software rather than simply reselling a platform developed for another market.

This is important to the way we approach software. Owning the product means we can continue changing it as we learn, adapt it to different markets and build features around real business requirements. It also means there is a direct relationship between the company developing the software and the businesses using it.

Our first product, Synkra Chat, is already available. Synkra Flow is now ready for beta.

Synkra is building software around some of the practical work that businesses have to manage every day, particularly customer communication, automation and internal operations. We want these tools to be useful without requiring a large technical team or an enterprise software budget.

Our first products reflect that approach. Synkra Chat brings customer conversations into one place, including website chat and email, and includes an AI Agent for handling customer conversations. Synkra Flow is a self serve automation platform, now ready for beta, that allows businesses to connect their tools and automate processes between them.

Synkra is based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The company is being built here, and the South African market is an important part of how we understand the businesses and problems our products are intended to serve.

We also intend to take Synkra into other markets over time. Building from South Africa does not mean limiting the products to South African businesses. It gives us a starting point from which to develop software that can work across different markets while still taking local business conditions seriously.
